              What is a Virtual Assistant?

              Traditionally known in the office place as an Administrative Assistant, a Virtual Assistant  provides those same administrative services without all the hassle that comes with hiring an employee.  Virtual assistants work from an off-site location (usually their home) and use their own equipment and supplies to provide administrative support to businesses, executives, and entrepreneurs.  Assignments are usually communicated through e-mail, phone, fax, or mail. The virtual assistant is generally self-employed.  This is appealing to businesses because for them this means NO employee related taxes, insurance, or benefits that need to be provided. It also means that the business does not have to worry about supplying any of the equipment needed to perform the job. Generally there is no training involved which saves the business owner time and money.  Lastly, you pay ONLY for 100% productive time, meaning you only pay for the amount of time and materials spent on your specific project.
